We're home. We got back yesterday afternoon. Pittsburgh looks pretty gray after Orlando, but it's good to be home anyway. The temperature is going to drop in Orlando this week, so it's fine.

We had a lovely time, except for the brief moment when Erin's charming personality caused me to finally snap. I may have been a little tired and over-sensitive at the time, but how hard is it to be polite, and answer people civilly, even if said people are only your mother?

We had great fun volunteering for the full marathon on Sunday. We were assigned as Screaming Fans in the Animal Kingdom, behind some of the shops in Africa, on an access road right before it enters the "onstage" area, as they call the part of the park where guests are, as opposed to the "backstage" area where the dumpsters are. We were at mile 16. There were about 25 of us and we were there from 6:30am to 11, when the last runners - okay, at that point, they were walkers - came through. The first several participants to come through were wheelchair racers, each one accompanied by an official on a bike, as was the first male runner and the first female runner. Apparently the same guy from Brazil wins it every year, and he was certainly enjoying himself. The wheelchairs were flying. Farther back in the pack were a few wheelchair racers who were struggling, but the leaders were so fast.

I'm only just getting my voice back from all the screaming. People's names are on their race bibs, so as soon as the sun came up and we could read the names, we were able to yell something other than GO RUNNERS! LOOKING GOOD! I decided to be the bigger person and get over my total annoyance with Team in Training and how they never acknowledge that there's anyone in a race except other members of Team in Training, and I yelled "Go T 'n T" a lot and they responded very appreciatively, so that was nice.

What wasn't so nice was the five or six volunteers who brought folding chairs, sat down and never clapped, cheered, or said a word to the runners. One lady slept for about an hour. I guess people will do anything to get a free park ticket, but it was infuriating. The Disney person in charge of us said they're volunteers, there was nothing she could do or say about it. But as the race went on and the runners became walkers, especially those towards the back of the pack who were really struggling, and knowing they still had ten miles to go, they really needed the encouragement and it just really pissed me off.

/volunteer rant

I had lost my voice completely by Sunday night and Larry and the girls said it was annoying so I should stop talking, so I started signing, which annoyed them even more, so that was good family fun.

Larry had a good time. He's not a Disney-hater, but he can live without it. We just made sure we knew where there was a bathroom and a bench at all times, and the girls kept telling him how happy they were that he was there, and he was fine.

We rode the Tower of Terror and as we were getting off, a bellhop grabbed us, took us through some back hallways, put us on a car by ourselves and let us ride again. Of course, while we were walking, Erin told him about the ToT debacle in October, when the guy running the ride fell asleep and left us sitting there for many hours several minutes in grave danger of dying. So then he had to pretend that he couldn't get the ride to work once we got in our seats, haha. Obviously the whole thing was to get us to buy a picture, which we did, because we are Disney sheep, but it was fun.

We ate at the Prime Time TV restaurant Sunday at MGM, where the waitresses are supposed to act like your mother, and when Larry had his Blackberry out to check on the Steelers game, the waitress said, "No toys at the table!" and took his Blackberry and refused to give it back until we were finished eating. So we didn't know the Steelers had won until it was over. I wish we didn't have to play the Ravens, but at least it's at home. Eat dirt, Ray Lewis.

I also remembered, as we were sitting watching "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience," that Lasik mono-vision doesn't work with 3D glasses, so I wonder how screwed I am for MBV? Jensen keeps talking about the fabulous new technology, so maybe it'll be okay, or at least not give me a headache while not letting me see anything like the 3D stuff at Disney does.

And I've just now caught up on the promo he's been doing for MBV and could he be any more adorable? I thought he seemed pretty relaxed, really. Also, he should wear more sweaters.
