Okay, I really don't mind WiPs. Or WsiP. Whatever. I don't mind waiting for the next part, especially if it's someone I know and trust and who posts regularly. I think it's nice that someone is so excited about their story they don't want to wait until it's all finished to post it. I've done that myself.
If an author flakes out on a WiP, I'm perfectly capable of dealing and moving on. There are a million other stories to read and it's not the end of the world.
HOWEVER. If your long, multi-chapter story is complete? Just post the goddamn thing. All at once. Don't make people have to wait to read something that's finished and just sitting there. /rant, and YMMV, of course.
I have no idea how I'm going to make it through tonight. I'm excited and nervous and I'm planning on loving the roller coaster ride no matter how scary and awful it is.
