I've always been curious about disclaimers on RPF. Who's going to be suing? It's not like real people are owned by anyone, you know?
I love how people who post to storyfinder commms tend to throw their life history into the explanation of why they want the stories they do, or how they lost the stories they're looking for for the tenth time.
I know I have problems with story titles sometimes, but what the hell kind of a title is Taste You All Over My Teeth, besides an icky one?
Popslash remix is live! It's right here! There's only a handful of stories, so go and take a look at them. It's the last time for the remix that started it all. Next year popslash is going to be part of the larger multi-fandom remix. It's definitely time for that, but it's a little melancholy-making anyway.
So much love to
bossymarmalade for keeping it going so lovingly.
Some fabulous person remixed my insane!Justin decides to woo Lance story, Yes, We Have No Bananas. If you're at all familiar with
still_gay, you have to read it. It perfectly captures all the wackiness of both that comm and Lance's life, and fandom in general. Just brilliant.
Yes, We Have No Bananas (The Internet Stalkamix). Go and tell whoever wrote it how brilliant it is.
Complete change of subject here: If I see one more reference to season 4 of SPN being "a steaming pile of crap" I may...well, get annoyed.
I don't see how anyone can say that Sam was relegated to a supporting role last season, when the entire season was SAM'S STORY. I don't see how anyone can whine about Castiel and the angels taking away from the Winchesters and their relationship, since the whole season was about THEIR RELATIONSHIP falling apart. And next season, they'll put it back together again. Every interview, every spoiler I've seen, just has me more and more excited about season 5.
So, even thought Lois is out of town and we can't have Winchester Day this week, I'm going to follow
topaz119's very wise advice, that when fandom is annoying you, go back to the source. I think I'll watch something good while I work out later today.
I'm trying to stick to the bike and weights and yoga for now, because there's something weird going on in my right ankle. As Ashley keepsyelling at me telling me, nagging pains become big injuries if they're ignored. And I'm a few weeks into training for the Disney marathon, and wouldn't I rather skip my 7 mile long run yesterday than my 20 mile run in December because of another stress fracture!?!?!? Yes, Ash, I would. So. Although I ran a couple of miles this morning just to see what it felt like. It would help if I had a clue what it is that's wrong.
I've been watching ST:TOS while I work out lately. (I did it last night at almost 10 o'clock, and boy, was that a mistake. The exercise that late, not ST. It was like drinking an entire pot of coffee. I was buzzing until 2:30.) ST:TOS was so obviously a show made in the 60s when it comes to gender issues. They tried so hard with everything else, you know? Also, my goodness, what a colorful show. I bet the costume department had a ball.
I had a good time in C-bus with Erin. She was really nice to me, which sometimes she isn't. We didn't go to the Irish fest, we went to see HBP again, and she didn't even give me a hard time when I bitched about plot devices that make the characters look stupid. Of course, she lured me over there with promises of the new Burberry store and then didn't let me buy anything, and she let me pick out a bag of candy to snack on while we sat in bed and watched TV and played around online, then kept the bag close to her so I had to ask every time I wanted a piece. But that's just Erin, and I really glad I went over. She's well aware that Ashley and I do better together than she and I do, so it was good.
