Holy Crap. I just arrived in Columbus. Long day, to say the least. Ash and I had dinner with Pat last night. She and I kept in touch for about 15 years after we left Dayton. She was my Beatlefest companion forever back in the day. It was great to see her again.
Then this morning was the race. The weather was beautiful, there were F-15s flying overhead at the start line, there were Air Force officers in uniform handing out medals with planes on them and congratulations at the finish line. It got a little warm, since there wasn't a cloud in the sky, but I still had an decent run.
Due to the Marriott being bitches and refusing to let us check out late, (We're full!) we had to check out before the race, so after, I drove to Oxford to take a shower at Ashley's house. Then we watched SPN and I drove the hour back to Dayton to meet Donna for dinner. She and I had a very intense friendship way back when, and then things got complicated and I kind of left her for Larry, then I had babies while she had miscarriages - she finally had two kids before we moved, but we could just never get back on track. Anyhoo, tonight it was like we hadn't been apart for more than a week. So that was nice.
Then I drove the hour and a half to Erin's. I hate the 270 bypass around C-bus, I'm sure I've mentioned that before. It's like the 10th Circle of Hell. Anyway, I'm here, and so very, very tired. Let's see if Erin will blow up the air mattress for me, or if I have to sleep on the couch Magill pees on. I already had to park down the street because her roommate's boyfriend might want to park in the space by the front door. My daughter - Miss Hospitality.
I think it's time for some Advil, candy, and bed, in that order.
