I really love Criminal Minds, and I've read some fic there, although most of it isn't to my liking. I've not gotten at all involved in the fandom, and I hate to generalize, although I'm totally going to, but from the little I've seen, it seems to be a rather humor-impaired group of folks.
COPS WITH FRAMED DIPLOMAS!
Criminal Minds: San Francisco (CBS): A gusty-but-bald FBI man leads a new group of profilers in solving crimes, but their tenacity occasionally creates conflicts with serial killers.
Starring: Forest Whitaker
That blurb about the spinoff? Is supposed to be funny. Judging by the comments, no one gets it. "What do they mean, occasionally??"
I hope everyone had a nice weekend, whatever holiday you do or do not celebrate. The weather here was lovely, Larry took Friday off, and he, Neville, Horace and I had a relaxing few days. Notice I didn't include Lucy in that. Whenever Horace is here, she lives under our bed. If she was out all the time, Horace would get used to her and stop chasing her, but on the few times she ventures out and tries to sneak downstairs, he's all CAT! THERE'S A CAT IN HERE! and off he goes.
Whenever he and Neville are in different rooms, the tags on his collar, which I tried unsuccessfully to remove, jangle, and Neville comes charging in, barking his head off. Horace's mere presence seems to wind Neville up, and then he starts chasing Lucy, too. I like Horace, and god knows Lois has watched Neville for us a million times, but for a dog that mostly just lays around, his presence is kind of disruptive.
It sort of pisses me off that poor Lucy has to deal with it, but Nev is just as bad as Horace when they're together. Neville's "I'm a TERRIER and the rest of you are mere mortals" mindset is never more apparent than when Horace comes to stay.
I left Horace's bed in the living room this time and I've been sleeping on the couch. The first night I tried putting it up in our room, but he kept doing things that set Nev off, like breathing, and then Larry got all grumpy about having his precious sleep interrupted, so we just stayed downstairs.
As long as I've known Lar, sleep has been more important to him than practically anything, and I may have some issues with how he gets when it's interrupted. So, I guess my point is, I'm happy Horace is going home today.
Lois didn't get to watch SPN last week, so we're going to have to have two Winchester nights this week, I think. I can't wait for her to see it.
My Big Bang is up to 7000 words, y'all. Woot.
Also, in response to a post
missyjack made, I was thinking about who is supposed to be the Christ figure in the whole SPN scenario, Sam or Dean, and I've come to the conclusion that the writers can't make up their minds.
They're always staking Sam out in crucifix poses, but Dean's had about ten Gesthemane moments. Dean has such issues with God as the father who's forsaken him, but Sam is the one who's being tempted by Lucifer. They've each denied each other three times.
So, while I'm going with Sam, it could go either way.
And oh, my, Jensen singing at the JiB con. Holy good god. Awesome and adorable.
