withdiamonds at 01:27pm on 23/01/2011Yikes, I'm very nervous about the game tonight. I have faith the Steelers can win this one, but that whole momentum thing the Jets have going on is worrisome.
I already heard the 2010 edition of "Here We Go" on the radio the other day, which is so very premature. You're jinxing us, people!
"Here We Go" is the traditional, decades-old, incredibly lame Steelers Superbowl song. The words are updated to fit the current roster whenever the Steelers get close to the Superbowl. The chorus goes like this: "Here we go.........Here we go..........Here we go..........Pittsbrugh's going to the Superbowl." Yes, brilliant lyrics. Then there's a lot of description of the prowess of the individual players and what they bring to the game. All sung in an impressively flat monotone. It's also the most relentless earworm I've ever come across. I heard it on Friday and it's still stuck in my head.
I love it. :)
This stuff gets recorded in peoples' basements and sent into local radio stations, who then play it with great glee. If we win the game tonight, I can't wait to hear "Knockin' on Seven's Door" and "Stairway to Seven." Yes, Pittsburghers are just that clever.
To distract myself from football, I've been alternately cleaning the house and working on my![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
j2_everafter story, "Chicken Little," which I'm pretty happy with. It's non-AU and I struggled for awhile with what to do about Gen and Danneel. I really, really like them, and didn't want to dispose of them in an angsty way, so I'm pretending they don't exist. They just really don't fit into this particular story, so I'm negating their very existence. I don't usually like to do that, especially in a story set during Season 6, but they're just not what the story's about. So I guess it's kind of an AU, in that sense.
My posting date is February 18, which is just right.

topaz119 linked me to a really brain-scarring story, and I only skimmed a little bit, but I can't get either the images of gratuitous torture, nor the incredibly bad writing, out of my head. I need to go find a nice Danny/Steve to recover.
So the rest of this post is pictures, some from the marathon, and also my new haircut.
