withdiamonds at 12:42pm on 24/01/2011Adam has five appointments this week that I need to drive him to. Three for his back, one for his eyes, and one for his ears. His other back appointment is at Larry's hospital, so at least that's one trip I don't have to make. Besides, Neville has a doctor's appointment at the same time, and we can't miss that!
His back just gets so much worse when he drives that I'd feel like a bad mother if I said, hey, too bad for you, drive yourself, and I don't really mind. It's not like I have anything else pressing to do with my time right now. This morning he saw a plastic surgeon about closing up his ears. He found out it can be done, and how much it'll cost, but he hasn't decided for sure yet what he's going to do.
I'm enjoying the time with him, but wow, does he ever have a lot of opinions. Last Thursday his eye appt was about 45 minutes away, and while we were there it started snowing. We left at 4:30 and didn't get home until 6:30 - snow and rush hour combined. He never stopped talking the whole way. Same with this morning, although that was only an hour each way. America's infrastructure, capitalism, Japan, professional sports, the teaching profession and the American educational system, how useless his art degree is, plants, his ears, why my car is too expensive for me, why it's silly for me to care about looking older - I should be proud of my wrinkles - his sisters, how we raised him, the state of television and entertainment, taxes, you name it, he has an opinion.
I just wanted to listen to the guys on the sports radio station talk about the football game last night, but no. Anyway, those guys just repeat the same things over and over, so why do I care? Or something.
Every week Hawaii Five-O gets more awesome. I'm going to rewatch it again tonight, since I'm used to seeing it on Mondays. I also want to rewatch SPN Season 6 before Friday. I'm on 6.04, so it's doable. I should get it from iTunes and watch it on my phone while I'm hanging around all those waiting rooms.
