withdiamonds at 08:48pm on 17/03/2011I just finished packing for Disney World. My flight leaves at 7 tomorrow morning, so I think I have to get up a whole lot earlier than I want to. But that's not as bad as Tuesday morning when we leave. Ashley's flight leaves at 5:15am. She wants to get to work at noon and work a half day. She guards her vacation days very carefully.
Adam hates his job. I knew he would. He'd done with training and has taken calls on his own the past two days. He's torn between his "society should take care of everyone" ideals and "dude, you got a ten-day notice that your power was being shut off, why are you waiting until day nine to call?" There was a girl today who's in grad school, two kids, and is waiting for her student loan to come through. But she's already on a payment plan and there was nothing Adam could do. Another guy said he was either going to go out and rob somebody or kill himself, so he'd either be in jail, where he would have power, or he'd be dead, where it wouldn't matter. Adam really doesn't have the personality to handle that kind of thing. So he's going to start looking for some kind of job where he can be outside, playing with trees and plants, but not lifting anything or using his back in any way. I wish him luck with that, I really do.
