Happy Nurses Week to all my fellow nurses.

This post has been percolating in my head for a couple of weeks now. Let me see if I can get this down the way I want to. A few weeks ago, [livejournal.com profile] cereta made a post about the rage and anger involved with being fat and having people who love you give you a hard time about it. I'm obviously paraphrasing. I'm not going to link to the post because I don't know her that well, but it's easy to find if you're interested.

Lucy said her post was triggery. It obviously triggered me, but probably not the way she expected it to. Since I'm still thinking about it weeks later, I decided to go ahead and write this.

This post is about the opposite side of that coin. What it's like to be on the other side of what [livejournal.com profile] cereta was talking about. There are obviously triggery issues all over the place in here.

My anger, let me show it to you )

Ha, I was just about to whine how my Big Bang would never get claimed because I write the worst, most unappealing summaries in the world, but I refreshed one more time just to see, and \o/! Claimed! It's like being picked for volleyball in gym class or something. Yikes.

I just took a pile of gold - not quite as big as the pile of gold Sam and Dean took from the dragons - to my local jewelry store/WE BUY GOLD place. Old chains, broken earrings, single earrings, lots of stuff I've been sticking in a bag for years. Several things that were Mom's. I had a bit of a pang about a bracelet I remember buying for Mom, but I never wear it, never will wear it, and in the end, it's just a thing. An object, and keeping that bracelet wasn't going to allow me to have a conversation with her on Sunday, or any other day. So I let it go.

Anyhoo, it was like found money and now Adam can buy a plane ticket to Japan. :)

Very excited about SPN tonight. Lois came over last night and we got her caught up on the last two episodes, which was fun, knowing the next one is already tonight.
