Why is Facebook all of a sudden filled with BBQ sauce and mystery seedlings?!

My Big Bang has reached a little over 38,000 words and I'm ready to start editing \o/! I have gorgeous artwork and it appears my artist "gets it" so maybe my fears of having written a long-ass story that completely misses the point are unfounded. Although I also explained to her what I was going for, so... Anyway, I wasn't editing as I went along and haven't actually read the whole thing at once, so I have no idea how it hangs together. I also have a long list of things I meant to include but didn't. But I'm excited to get started, which is good. I mean, I'm not sick of it yet and that's awesome. I'm not kidding when I say I don't think it'll have a huge audience, but that's okay, because I kind of love it anyway.

I'll be asking soon for beta help with it. 38,000 words of gen from John's pov. Think about it.

However, I may let it sit a bit and work on [livejournal.com profile] spn_summergen. I know what I'm going to write, I'm excited about who I'm writing it for, so I'd best get started. I also know what I'm writing for the Sam/Dean mini-bang. I haven't been this excited about writing in a while, and it feels really good. My mind isn't skittering away from the idea of opening Word docs like it does when I'm struggling.

The story written for ME for [livejournal.com profile] spnspringfling was posted this morning/last night and it's EXACTLY the kind of thing I love. J2, enemies who actually are hot for each other, hostility and tension, such a confused Jared, and then resolution. It's told in such a fun way, things revealed just a little bit at a time, and I love it. I can't wait to find out who wrote it.

Cut Down to the Bone by anonymous.

And I'm off to go run before Adam needs my car to go take the GRE.

So here's what happened to Colleen yesterday. Opinions?

She's taking several classes at a Community College. They filled out teacher evaluations the other day and she was not very complimentary about one of her professors. She was in a different class yesterday when this guy came in, interrupting a class in session mind you, to bitch at that teacher about the evals. He specifically quoted something Colleen said, something about how this guy teaches from an Ivory Tower POV, and the other teacher agreed that was a harsh thing to say. All of this in front of an ongoing class. Colleen recognized what she had said, and turned red. The professor noticed, pointed at her and yelled, "Was that you who said that?" Being rattled at this point, Colleen nodded yes.

She was really upset and had no idea what to do. She eventually spoke to the Department Head who was quite helpful. She's upset that more than one professor knows that she said something negative on what was supposed to be an anonymous eval.

Adam, of course, wanted to call the guy and tell him he's an asshole and that he needs to apologize to Colleen. He doesn't like it when Colleen is upset, let me tell you. But I told him that she didn't need him to do that, she needed to deal with it herself, which she did.

But, seriously? How unprofessional and hostile and inappropriate is that?

Adam is still down at Pitt taking the GRE. He can't find his wallet so he went with his passport for ID. A better mother would have offered to drive him so he wasn't out there driving without a license, but I didn't feel like it, so here's hoping he gets home without breaking any traffic laws or being rear-ended or something.

He's packing for Japan, packing for three weeks in NY with Colleen, packing for my nephew's wedding in Atlanta, and packing his stuff away that he's not taking with him. Poor baby, his wallet could be anywhere. Although, he wears cargo pants, which only have 27 pockets, why isn't his wallet in one of them?
