My heart bleeded, girl

I thought about not posting today in a gesture of solidarity with those protesting and calling attention to SOPA and PIPA, but I don't post everyday anyway, so I figured it wouldn't really be taking much of a stand.

I've been talking a lot to Adam these past few days. He really wants to stay in Japan. The oldest bonsai nursery in the country offered him an apprenticeship. It's a five year gig to become a master, but he'd like to just do two years. Apparently one isn't enough. He never did apply to grad school for the fall of 2012, so if he comes home, he's not sure what he'd do. Convenient, that. I told him it was completely up to him and Colleen. He's just very undecided. He wants to do it, but he wants to at least live on the same continent as Colleen. She's coming to the 'Burgh this weekend for an interview with the grad school she wants to go to, so I'm sure I'll have an opportunity to see how she really feels about it all. He said they talked about it a lot while they were in Hawaii over Christmas.

I hadn't been planning on going to C'bus this past weekend, but Erin went to a bridal gown trunk show and found a couple of dresses she wanted me to see, so I drove over on Sunday and came home yesterday. She bought a dress, and it's lovely, but I still like the dress she bought back in August best. I didn't tell her that, because that wasn't what she wanted to hear. So she's going to sell the first dress. She seems to be allergic to the idea of save-the-dates cards, so I have to do some persuading. I've told people in my family several times when it is and they keep forgetting.
