So, every day my stepdad sends out a mass email to me, my stepsister, and a couple of his friends. It consists of quotes that he found who-knows-where, various collections. Stuff like "Nostalgia ain't what it used to be." "You're never too old to learn something stupid." I don't think he pays much attention to what they are - the whole point is to let everyone know he's alive and healthy and hasn't tripped over the dog and broken his leg. We're supposed to pay attention to make sure we receive it by noon, or, I don't know, call 911. Whatever, it's not the worst idea ever.

Here's another example:

"A lot of church members who are singing 'Standing on the Promises' are just sitting on the premises."

This from a man who, in spite of his Doctor of Divinity degree, is an atheist late in life, so like I said, I don't know that he really reads them. I hope not, because yesterday, here's what we got:

"The difference between rape and seduction is salesmanship."

I have no idea what to do with that. Part of me wants to write him and say, "Wtf??" But part of me is inclined to let it go, because, well, because I don't want to deal with him about it. I mean, age isn't an excuse, not at all, but...I don't know.

Anyway. I left one banana in the kitchen last time I went to C-bus, and there are fruit flies everywhere. I hate them this time of year.

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] dine, for the fun post card!

Both of my beta fish died yesterday. They were several years old, and I have no idea why they died on the same day.

I saw someone searching for "Superwholock" stories today. Do you know how long it took me to figure that one out?

I confess I haven't been watching the RNC. I just...I'm not capable of dealing with that level of rage right now.

I turned in my SDMB draft today. I had to fake an ending, because, while it's already 14,000 words, I don't know yet how it's going to end. It went in a different direction than I thought it was going to, as stories tend to do, but I'm good with that.

I'm off to C-bus tomorrow. Ashley is coming over, too, and I think we're going to a soccer game. C-bus as a MLS team, the Crew, and Nic and Erin have season tickets.

Bon voyage to [livejournal.com profile] kiffle and [livejournal.com profile] saturn92103 on your trip to Scotland! And I hope everyone at Dragon*Con is having a fabulous time. Next year, [livejournal.com profile] topaz119, I promise.
