My heart bleeded, girl

I said no more deadlines. I said no more challenges that even mentioned the words "first draft." First drafts give me a rash. I said NO DEADLINES FOR A WHILE. I need a break from deadlines, is what I said. I didn't sign up for Make the Yuletide Gay, the one challenge I've written for since 2003, because I just didn't want a deadline hanging over my head.

So what did I do today? I signed up for a challenge where there's not only a deadline, but the first draft is due the day I leave for Disney World to run a marathon.

But I just got swept up. Or something. It's the last year for j2_everafter and it's one of my favorite challenges. This will be my fourth one, and I saw a prompt that said, "yes, you can write me." So to the list of "Cinderella," "Chicken Little," and "The Apple Dumpling Gang," I'll be adding "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken." Because nothing says Jared and Jensen like a blind girl and a diving horse.

Good grief.

The weather in Cbus is beautiful. Erin and I hung out today and she was in a good mood. I was surprised, because she called me yesterday while I was driving and I had some trouble hearing her when I answered. This is the text she sent me after we hung up, which I didn't read until I got to Larry's: Is that how u always answer the phone in the car? U need to give the system time to connect. Plus I can hear u driving so I know ur in the car but bluetooth isn't as instant as actually being on the phone. Call me when u get here if u want. Can't wait to see u!

She's a peach. But today she seemed happy and didn't complain about Nic even once. Then Larry cooked dinner for the four of us. Tomorrow they're cooking.
