Lois and I are headed to Cbus this morning for a few days. We're going to hockey games tonight and Thursday - this way Larry doesn't have to stay up late to go with me. Tonight is the LA Kings, so I'm very excited. Most of the CBJ defense is injured, but the Kings haven't exactly gotten off to a great start, so we'll see. Just how long does a Cup hangover last, anyway?
Whenever the Jackets score a goal, they fire off a cannon, which is quite startling. We took Erin and Nic to the game Saturday night. It was Nic's first hockey game ever. For someone who has as many opinions abouteverything hockey as he does, he knows very little about the actual game. He said only cricket confuses him more, but he did appreciate the cannon, which we got to hear four times.
I'm hoping the snow holds off until we get there this afternoon. I drove home from Cbus on Sunday and it was one of those snowy, messy drives where I used up most of my windshield washer fluid so that I could see. I then watched the Superbowl at Lois's house. Not the outcome I wanted, but between the Niners' comeback, the blackout, and Beyonce, it was quite entertaining. I have issues with the Niners, but I just couldn't bring myself to want the Ravens to win.
This is why I don't post very often. Hockey, driving, hockey, driving....
