We had the best time ever! What a great day! The weather is gorgeous here, perfect for running, and it was wonderful. There were 18,000 runners and walkers that started this morning, for the full marathon, the half, and the wheelchair folks. There were people dressed in all sorts of pig stuff, both spectators and runners. I saw a lot of people running with big pink wings attached to their backs. So much fun!
My time was 2:41, which I was thrilled wih. I was hoping for 2:45 and expecting 3 hours.
Ashley's time for the full race was 4:18, which she was also thrilled with. Quite good for a first marathon.
No headaches, yay, although I'm getting one now, but I so don't care. I had a beer with lunch, because I didn't care if it triggered anything or not. Oops.
And now we're resting before dinner. Roman already left, Larry is going to Indiana tomorrow to see his mom, and Ashley and I are taking Erin home to Columbus in the morning, then going back to PGH.
Thank you so much, everyone, for your good wishes this morning. Ash and I left the hotel about 5 this morning and walked across the bridge to Cincinnati--our hotel is in Kentucky--and lined up with all 18,000 people and it was fabulous. Thank you!
