Congratulations,
kimannebb!
Okay, no one told Neville about the time change. He's been making me get up an hour earlier than I want to. It does make for a more productive morning once I'm up, I'll admit.
My MTYG assignment is fine, with some added elements that I'm kind of o.O about. I wrote a Dear Santa letter at the site, so I'm not going to do it here. It's amazing to me that this will be my 7th year for this fic exchange. Good grief.
Ashley and I had a lot of fun with the race Sunday. It was cold, but the sun was out, at least after a while, and it warmed up at bit. I prefer to run when it's cooler, anyway. It was a smallish race, a little over 2000 people, and there weren't a lot of walkers, so it was a pretty fast field. Our total time was 2:11, which is good for a half marathon. Our splits were 1:15 and 56, with me at an 11:30 pace and Ash at 8:30. I was very excited to run 6.5 miles at under a 12 minute pace. Even with that time, we finished 103rd out of 160 relay teams. The last place finisher was at 3:56. I was on a pace to finish in 2:30, which means an under-6 hour full marathon in January is doable. It should mean a 5 hour finish, but I'm not counting any chickens yet. No jinxing by being overly optimistic! My shins hurt today because I went to the gym yesterday to do weights, and decided just to sprint one teeny little mile to finish up my cardio after I used the elliptical, and their treadmills are like concrete, which I need to remember, and stay away from them.
I had to teach an extra class last night, to make up for the week we were in Chicago. I got home in time to watch The Big Bang Theory, then watched Dancing With the Stars, which I'd recorded. I forgot all about Castle! And can I just say, Aaron Carter seems a little...volatile?
Friday I'm going back to Disney World with
topaz119 for one last taste of the Food and Wine Festival. Just Friday to Sunday, but I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it.
