withdiamonds at 10:58am on 12/02/2010Oh, man, Crossroad Blues on TNT this morning. Hellhounds! I love this one. Man, is Dean pretty in this episode. They both are. And their relationship before Dean's deal is just so...nice to revisit.
I've never watched "Charmed" in my life, but it's on before SPN, and so I watch the last few minutes every day with the sound off, which admittedly is not a good way to figure out what a show is about, but it's very interesting to do it this way.
I've seen some people speculate about Jimmy still being in there with Castiel, because of the hamburger thing. I thought Cas said it was a physical craving that his vessel had, which sounds like maybe it's not a sentient thing? Maybe Jimmy's soul is safely somewhere else?
Speaking of souls, I have no idea what to think about Dean's soul. Does he have one, a part of one, was it left in hell, what the heck, I don't know. If he's immune to whatever Famine was selling, maybe it's not because he doesn't have a soul, but maybe it's because he's a righteous man? That may be far-fetched, and it doesn't cover the constant "I have this hole inside me, Sammy" schtick he's had going on since he got back from hell. But he has to still have a soul, or what would he be in so much pain? And wow, with the hopelessness. I've really been thinking about that for a while, now. I mean, there's no way out for him, not even death. He must be unutterably weary.
Sam and his powers are not any less hot this morning than they were last night. "Wait your turn." Very nice.
