So I'm slowly dragging my best friend over to the sparkly side. She's not particularly fannish, and slash would make her run away as fast as she could, but she lurves Justin. She uses me as a reference guide when she has questions about fannish things she knows I'm into, and she finds it amusing in that tolerant, indulgent way we do with people we care about but don't really understand. I was her personal X_Files expert for years. I bought her "Justified" for her birthday last year, and she loves it. She missed SNL last week, so last night we watched it. She said she thought Justin needed to bulk up a little. I brought out Rolling Stone. Needless to say, she was impressed. Then, being the devious person that I am, I slipped "Driven" into the VCR. No one can resist "Driven," dude. Number 1 gateway video of all time. I smiled smugly to myself as I watched her being sucked in. Hee. However, there was a price to pay. "The Barry Gibb Talk Show" had finally been purged from my brain, but it grabbed the oportunity to worm its way right back in and it's stuck again. Can't. Get. It. Out. I may have to sing the Brady Bunch Theme Song or It's A Small World several times to evict it again.

I'm writing, or trying to. Too many pictures of Chris and Joey and Lance, and I'm still flying from seeing Club!Justin, and I fucking forgot about JC last night. Too many distractions, man.

When deaf people have strokes, and have sign aphasia, it turns out the same part of their brain has been affected as hearing people's brains when they have strokes and are aphasic. i.e. the parts connected to speech and comprehension, not the parts involved with visual-spatial skills and muscle coordination. That's just more proof that sign language is a real language, not just a gestural system of communicating. While this may seem obvious, it's been a long and still not completely successful struggle for signed languages to be considered "real" languages. But they are. And here's more proof! Whoo!
Mood:: 'busy' busy
Music:: Fucking Barry Gibb Talk Show, what else?
