When Larry's hospital had their fund-raiser last week, or whenever it was, the thing I bid one and won in the silent auction was some kitchen stuff, Julie and Julia, and Mastering the Art of French Cooking.

As much as I love cookbooks, I've never even looked at that one before, although I do remember Julia Child's TV show, vaguely. I've been reading the book, and it's fascinating. I finally gave into temptation tonight and made Supremes de Volaille a Brun, or chicken breasts sauteed in butter. It was amazing. It also involved a fuckton of butter. Quelle surprise. This is a cookbook that should be used sparingly, I think, but it looks like so much fun.
