Holy crap, having been in the South since Thursday, I've eaten fried green tomatoes twice, fried okra, fried catfish, and BBQ ribs with jalapeno grits. So good. Asheville especially has awesome places to eat.
Dad and Champ were good. They were both a little less hyper than they've been in the past, which is good. Champ is a beautiful dog, and so smart. Dad's thinking about spending the winter in Florida, which is an excellent idea, seeing as he's fallen on the icebeing pulled all over the place by Champ taking Champ for a walk. He also told me that not only did he lock himself out of the house and use a ladder to climb in the kitchen window, he did it again and this time climbed in the bathroom window. He very sheepishly said he's finally hidden a key outside.
The house in Black Mountain is lovely as ever and Lois's in-laws are very welcoming. Her son and daughter-in-law and Lois and I did our 5K yesterday, and it was loads of fun. I walked it, my shin doesn't feel any worse, I guess that's the best I can ask for.
Today is the Biltmore. Such a gorgeous place. The Steelers are playing Seattle at one, but after last week, I'm afraid to watch. SEVEN TURNOVERS.
Then we decided not to leave Nev with Larry all week, so tomorrow we're going back to Columbus to get him, then to Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
Somewhere in all of this I must WRITE, OMG.
