One of the things I really like about [livejournal.com profile] spn_cinema is that it's for all fanworks, not just fic. Stories, art, podfics, fanmixes. I like that. I also like that the issues I had when I tried to write this story in April seem less overwhelming now and I'm actually almost done with it. I post on Nov. 14th, and I'm feeling very relaxed about it.

My reversebang posting date is Nov. 17th, and while I haven't even started the first draft which is due Nov. 1, I finally figured out what I'm going to write while I was taking a shower yesterday, so that's good.

Then 50 states, which I keep forgetting I signed up for.

What a fun episode. Of course the outtake Jared posted made it even more fun. Inventive gore without torture! Married!boys! I never watched Buffy, but I still appreciated the actors and their history. The anvils of Dean's issues falling all around! Dean's nightmares! Lovely MOTW episode. It actually seemed deeper to me than "Defending Your Life," which to my mind was a mass of unfulfilled potential. Don't get me wrong, I liked it a lot, I just think it was a little clunky and missed a couple of boats.

And of course, this week made it a thousand times easier for me to lose 25 pounds before Erin's wedding by putting HEARTS IN THE CUPCAKES.

Lois came over for dinner and to catch up on 7.03 and 7.04. We had a lot of wine with dinner, which may help explain why I was on the verge of tears all the way through "The Girl Next Door." I love it when this show is fun, like last night, but I also love it when it yanks my heart out and stomps on it.

I finally watched last week's H5O. Much better, it's fucking weird that Steve and Danny ignored Kono until they thought she was doing something wrong, and that Steve never acknowledged that he was responsible for the crime she allegedly lose her badge for. They really dropped the ball on that one. It was good not to see Joe or Max for a whole episode, and I suppose we're stuck with Lori. So, like I said, better but not fabulous. Where are Rachel and Grace, is what I want to know.

Larry's home for the weekend. We're refinancing our house AGAIN and have to sign the papers on Monday morning. Larry keeps finding better deals. (It's like I married my stepfather sometimes.) We've owned this place for 27 years, but used the equity in it to make sure none of the kids ended up with student loans and years of debts to pay off. Including my interpreting degree, it's paid for one associate degree, three undergrad degrees, and one master's degree. The kids are very grateful for that, and I think of it as a real gift to them, that they can get on with their lives without that burden. It gives them freedom, I think. Otoh, we will NEVER get this mortgage paid off!

We didn't mean to pay for Ashley's masters degree, but she kept signing up for classes and then saying, oops, I didn't get that loan paperwork filled out yet. It was only three semesters, so we just went ahead and paid. (It was very "Ashley" of her.) But I'm afraid we have to be done, and Adam's gong to have to find a way to pay for grad school himself. Otherwise we'll have to wait until we're 80 to retire.

I woke up this morning, flat on my back, with Lucy standing on my chest purring into my face, and Neville sitting right behind her, on my full bladder. The other night I fell asleep on my side with Nev under the covers curled into my chest and Lucy on top of the covers, laying on Nev's back. And they each act like the other one doesn't exist when they do that. Such goofs.

Lastly, feel as if I've been transported back several years. On Lance's radio show, he said that around Chris's birthday last week, Chris went out to dinner with his girlfriend. She pretended to get sick and he took her home. While she did a fast fade, he walked in to find THE OTHER FOUR MEMEBERS OF NSYNC sitting at his table, waiting to have dinner. Just the five of them. INCLUDING JUSTIN FUCKING TIMBERLAKE. It's the first time the five of them have been in the same room since 2005. They sat there and talked until 6am! I think my heart grew two sizes when I heard that. And Justin even confirmed it in an interview and he didn't even wince when he talked about it.

I want to have written that story.

And of course I signed up for Make the Yuletide Gay. Ten years! (Although it's the eleventh year of actual stories and will be nine years for me. I couldn't not sign up, now, could I?
