So it's once again time for [livejournal.com profile] halfamoon. I don't write a lot of woman/female-oriented fiction. No real reason, I guess I'm just too busy writing about the guys. But my 2011 Big Bang, which was mostly about John and his boys, started out with about 5000 words of Mary's story. It was one of the parts I enjoyed writing the most, and it makes me think I should explore women characters more often. As [livejournal.com profile] halfamoon is fine with previously posted works, I'm posting just that part of the story here, so I can link to that comm.

When she was six, Mary's father taught her how to use a gun. )

I almost forgot about this, but since it's still the middle of January, I guess I'm not doing too badly.

Make the Yuletide Gay! The best present you won't find under your non-denominational physical representation of the holiday season this year!

This year, [livejournal.com profile] chalcopyrite wrote Same Song, Next Verse" for me, making me extremely lucky. It's the most wonderful Trickyfish in the world, with Chris's recent fortieth birthday party as the anchor. It's a beautiful story, obviously written by someone who knows me, and I treasure it greatly.

I wrote Take you for a trip all around the world for Melanie. (The link takes you to AO3.)

The request was for a Lance/Chris AU with both of them having blue collar jobs. I'm not exactly a popslash AU person, but I did my best. I like to think Chris and Lance were recognizable as Chris and Lance, you know? Also, if anyone who read it knows me at all, it was crystal clear that I wrote it. I mean, there was Pittsburgh and there was Disney World. What more do you need?

This was the tenth anniversary (the 11th year, really) of Don We Now Our Gay Apparel/Make the Yuletide Gay, and I'm glad I did it. Every year I say no at first, and then I say what the hell, why not? This was my ninth year, which is amazing. I remember when it used to be such a big deal, the biggest popslash exchange of the year -heh, I guess it still is, only in a different way - and it was terrifying to find out who your recipient was, especially if they were awesome - omg, [livejournal.com profile] giddygeek! How could I possibly write a story good enough for her?!

And now it's just warm and comfortable and it wouldn't be Christmas without it. I don't mean to make it sound unimportant, because it's still very special. It's just a different feeling than it used to be.

Title: Gather Near to Us Once More
Characters: Sam/Dean, Bobby
Rating: G
Word count: 1220
Warnings: None
Summary: Written for [livejournal.com profile] insmallpackages. The prompt was Supernatural: ficlet, present-opening, first curtain!fic Christmas, Sam/Dean or Sam n Dean. It's Sam/Dean, but mostly in my head. It feels a little late for a Christmas story, but here it is. It's actually a timestamp for To the place I belong. Title from "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." Sappy, I know. I couldn't help it.

Title: Waltz of the Flowers
Rating: R
Pairing Sam/Dean
Warnings: None
Summary: Something is killing ballerinas at the Pittsburgh Ballet. Takes place sometime in some nebulous future.
Notes: This was written for [livejournal.com profile] 50states_spn. So, I researched folklore and local legends in the 'Burgh and came up with a couple of haunted libraries. While Sam might like that, I was bored. And I wanted to write about something in my city that I know and love, and the Dormont Library wasn't it. So, I made this up completely. The Pittsburgh Ballet Theater isn't the least bit haunted, as far as I know. You could look at this as a bit of PBT RPF, but I would imagine the members of the company would prefer you didn't. The whole thing is farcical enough as it is.

Pairing: Mike/Harvey
Word count: 1290
Summary: Written for [livejournal.com profile] insmallpackages. Prompt: Three times X hit on Y accidentally and the one time it wasn't an accident. There was a choice of several fandoms, I chose Suits.

So, I wrote a Suits drabble for [livejournal.com profile] insmallpackages. The prompt was "Donna and Mike having coffee."

This is for [livejournal.com profile] powrhug. Kare, I felt bad (okay, not really that bad) about the Steelers beating the Chiefs last night - although your defense was almost too much for our offense.

Anyway, here's a drabble tiny little 2.10 coda for you. It's brief and sappy. :)

324 words, NOT a drabble :) )

Artist: [livejournal.com profile] violateraindrop

Fic Title: Baby, You're so Real
Fandom/Genre: SPN, bodyswap
Pairing(s): Sam/Dean
Rating: PG
Word Count: c.6000
Warnings: Not really.
Summary: It's not enough that Lucifer is popping up in Sam's head all the time, now Sam has to deal with looking in the mirror and seeing his brother's face. Not to mention, he has to listen to Dean complain about being tall. He can only hope that Dean and Bobby will figure out a way to reverse whatever the hell's happening, because it's making Sam dizzy.
Notes: I had a lot of fun with this one, and [livejournal.com profile] violateraindrop was a delight to work with. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] topaz119 - I kept her busy this week. Title from Matchbox 20, yet again. Also, this is labeled Sam/Dean, but it's more UST than anything else.

This is my story for [livejournal.com profile] spn_cinema.

Title: Passing on the Left-hand Side
Movie Prompt: Same Time, Next Year
Pairing: Jared/Jensen, Jensen/JDM, Jared/Chad
Rating: R
Word Count: c.11,000
Summary: Jared and Jensen meet one night and are instantly attracted to each other. But they already have lives, with jobs and families and other people in them and everything. So they agree to go their separate ways and meet up once a year, at the same time, in the same place. This is them, over the years, and it's very much a love story.
Warnings: Infidelity, obviously. That may not be the point of the movie, but it's certainly the premise.
Notes: I've been writing this story since February. Ten months. It was a bear, but I finally wrestled it into some semblance of submission. I've also been whining to [livejournal.com profile] topaz119 about it for that long. If it wasn't for her, it wouldn't be even close to all right. The title is a Matchbox 20 lyric. That's an easy habit to slip back into, and I just keep doing it. The LJ cut text is from the Johnny Mathis theme song from the movie.

And the last time I felt like this, I was falling in love... )
