I almost forgot about this, but since it's still the middle of January, I guess I'm not doing too badly.

Make the Yuletide Gay! The best present you won't find under your non-denominational physical representation of the holiday season this year!

This year, [livejournal.com profile] chalcopyrite wrote Same Song, Next Verse" for me, making me extremely lucky. It's the most wonderful Trickyfish in the world, with Chris's recent fortieth birthday party as the anchor. It's a beautiful story, obviously written by someone who knows me, and I treasure it greatly.

I wrote Take you for a trip all around the world for Melanie. (The link takes you to AO3.)

The request was for a Lance/Chris AU with both of them having blue collar jobs. I'm not exactly a popslash AU person, but I did my best. I like to think Chris and Lance were recognizable as Chris and Lance, you know? Also, if anyone who read it knows me at all, it was crystal clear that I wrote it. I mean, there was Pittsburgh and there was Disney World. What more do you need?

This was the tenth anniversary (the 11th year, really) of Don We Now Our Gay Apparel/Make the Yuletide Gay, and I'm glad I did it. Every year I say no at first, and then I say what the hell, why not? This was my ninth year, which is amazing. I remember when it used to be such a big deal, the biggest popslash exchange of the year -heh, I guess it still is, only in a different way - and it was terrifying to find out who your recipient was, especially if they were awesome - omg, [livejournal.com profile] giddygeek! How could I possibly write a story good enough for her?!

And now it's just warm and comfortable and it wouldn't be Christmas without it. I don't mean to make it sound unimportant, because it's still very special. It's just a different feeling than it used to be.

This is my story for [livejournal.com profile] popsoundboard's Brave Author challenge. I had more fun with this than I should have, maybe. I was thisclose to going for the MPREG prompt, dear Anonymous Reader, but went with this instead. I can never resist Trickyfish. So, Lance/Chris: current day, NSYNC* reunion fic, touring and sharing a bus, sex would be awesome in the story is what we have here.

NKOTBSBWTF? [Chris/Lance, rated R-ish, 2770 words.]

You were thisclose to doing dinner theater in Tampa, Joe. )

So, I'm a little late, but I've been busy, so...

Thank you so much to [livejournal.com profile] sperrywink for writing me such a lovely Trickyfish story for MTYG, After the Ending. It was just right, and just what I wanted.

I wrote my story for [livejournal.com profile] epicflailer, who wanted Justin/Chris. I love Timbertrick so very much, so I was very happy. It's hard these days for me to write popslash without a bit of an edge. I adore Chris and Justin's early relationship, and even their later one, but there is no happy ending and I couldn't forget that. But I ended the story in 2003, when things were still good enough, and I hope that was okay. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] topaz119 for the read-through. Also, it was only appropriate that the title came from Like I Love You. Sing this song with me, indeed.

Anyway, it's at the MTYG archive, but I wanted it here, too. In the grand old tradition of popslash, I think I will post this headerless. Sing this song with me, Timbertrick.

Ain't nobody love you like I love you )

I completely never remembered to post this here, so I'm doing it now. Just ignore it, it's my popslash remix story from earlier this year. I just want it to be in this lj.

It 's for the last popslash remix ever, they're not going to be another one. )

Title: How Come You Don't Wanna Love May Me?
Fandom: Popslash
Pairing: JC/Lance
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: stalking, sort of
Prompt: 34) Hush
Summary: Lance is less than thrilled when his hubby, JC, suggests they move back to his boring picturesque hometown. Little does he know JC’s crazy former boyfriend, Justin, has an unhealthy obsession with JC. This infatuated ex will stop at nothing to get JC back - including impersonating Lance!
AN: I think the summary says it all, don't you? Written for the Lifetime Movie challenge, [livejournal.com profile] stori_telling. Thanks, Ash.

So, MTYG. First of all, how much do I love that the finest seasonal story exchange is still going on after all these years? So much love and appreciation to the mods for that.

I wrote The Virgin Maiden and the Unicorn for [livejournal.com profile] syncalot, and it has the lamest title ever, I don't care what anybody says.

When I first got my assignment and saw that Jacie wanted unicorns, I had no idea what to do with that. I just kept flailing at Ashley, UNICORNS! WHAT?! Jacie also asked for an AU, but I failed at that, as I usually do with AUs. But I eventually got over the unicorns not really, not ever and managed to write a story I really like.

And can I just say, Ashley was of no help whatsoever. :)

And thank you again, glitterdragon, for the lovely Joey and Lance story, Dance Dance.

I haven't posted in a few days and I have Much to Say.

Okay, mostly just idle rambling, but whatever.

I watched Bad Day at Black Rock while I made dinner and you know how when you watch or read something a lot, the plot holes get bigger each time? Like, how did Bela know they were going to eat at Biggerson's restaurant in time to get a waitress uniform and be there ready to pour coffee?

I've never heard of Fan History until today, (and I'm not linking to it), but now that I have, wow, some people are batshit crazy and poisonously vindictive all at the same time. It's not a good combination. Outing people as fans, linking their fannish and RL identities, is despicable.

The feedback I've gotten for my Big Bang story consistently uses the word creepy, which makes me very happy.

Speaking of feedback, I didn't quite get through all the Remix stories before the reveal, but I want to finish them soon.

I thought the caliber of stories this year was wonderful. [livejournal.com profile] bossymarmalade runs a hell of a challenge. And I had the pleasure of getting Maggie as my remixee, which was scary and fabulous all at the same time. And of course I just had to remix her JoshLynn story, jc chasez, full of grace, because if anyone can identify with a middle-aged pervy mother, it's me. :) In the Southern Comfort remix, I just thought, hmm, what would I have done? And voila, the story pretty much wrote itself.

And now, a Neville picspam )

This is a time stamp for The Epic of the Lambs: Straight Out From Underneath. I really had such a good time revisiting this, and how much do I love this Lance and Justin? Anyway, it really doesn't stand alone very well at all, so if you haven't read the Epic, this is kind of meh.

Thanks to [personal profile] phaballa  and [personal profile] topaz119  .

This fits between School and Fall.
